I know, rules suck. I hate rules as much as you do. We don’t have a lot of them, but the ones we have are absolutely necessary.

So PLEASE READ THEM! Failure to play by the rules may get you banned.

Rules

1. Don’t be an a$$hole. It’s pretty simple. Around here, we treat people with respect, and we have good intentions. This means no name-calling, harassing, bullying, or other general rudeness in the comments. If you’re about to post something, just ask yourself “am I being an a$$hole?” If it’s even questionable, then don’t do it.
2. Keep it relevant. What does this mean? It means this is an outdoors site… not a video game site, car site, knitting site, or any other special interest niche. Nobody wants this place cluttered with stuff we’re not here to read about. If you want to do that, create your own site and have a blast with it. And let us know…we might visit!
3. NO SOLICITING. I can’t stress this enough – DO NOT try to sell stuff in the comments or anywhere else on this site. This includes selling or promoting Beach Body, Rodan & Fields, Arbonne, and any other MLM stuff like that. It’s great that you are entrepreneurial, and if that’s your thing, cool…just do it on Facebook. Don’t clutter our blog comments with it.
4. No Porn. It’s stupid that I even have to say this, but there’s always that one person… sooo, no nude or pornographic images, video, or links to them allowed. If you do it, you’re out. If you do it and it’s child porn, I’m finding your identity and reporting you to the FBI…sicko.
5. NO Politics. We get enough of that from all the other social media, TV shows, newspapers, well…everything. All it does is divide people. We don’t need that here.
6. No hate. Whether it’s racist, sexist, homophobic, religious, political, whatever. Hate is hate. And it’s not welcome here. See rule #1.
7. Don’t plagiarize. This means don’t post someone else’s photos, video, articles, etc. and claim it as your own. Especially if it has a copyright or trademark. If you want to post any kind of creative or intellectual property created, produced or owned by another person or company, you must credit them for their work.
8. All images and written content on this site – both in static pages and blog posts – is copyright protected. If any original blog posts or other content from this site is shared on social media or other sites, it must be shared via hyperlink to the original ArOwnBackyard.com content. Copy/Pasting of our content is not allowed. Additionally, the AROwnBackyard name and logo are trademarked. Their use by other parties is prohibited and could result in legal action or prosecution.
